GEN-Y Hitch Celebrates 10 Years in Business
NAPPANEE, Ind. — GEN-Y HITCH announces the company's 10 year anniversary after a decade of growth.
Since establishing the business in 2012, the company has grown tremendously and employs over 60 individuals across all divisions. Carl Borkholder, the founder, never imagined the success of the company would grow to be as big as it is today.
"It's amazing to see what happens when you stay at something and don't give up," said Borkholder. "Especially when you hire high quality individuals with the same mindset — everything is possible! Our focus has been and remains to be to create new products and innovating our existing product lines to make them better."
GEN-Y takes pride in servicing a wide variety of towing markets. The company specializes in Torsion-Flex Technology, which is designed to provide a smoother ride when towing. This technology has taken the towing market by storm and revolutionized the way people tow today.
The company's main priority is customer service, externally and internally.
"We are here to serve, not only our customers but also each other within the organization," said Donna Schmucker, Marketing Director. "We keep the needs of team members and customers at the heart of our work. We believe that a strong and service driven culture is essential to our success! That is a key ingredient that has led us to where we are today."

About Gen-Y Hitch
Gen-Y Hitch was formed in 2011 by Carl Borkholder. The foundations of Gen-Y Hitch were based upon the involvement of Carl in the recreational vehicle industry, which drove home the inconvenience of not having a hitch system that was compatible among all the trucks and towable units necessary for the company’s operation. As a result of this incompatibility, crews were constantly forced to make special arrangements to make sure their vehicle could pull the particular trailer necessary for a particular job. Based upon this experience, Carl began to design an adjustable tri-ball/pintle combination hitch which allowed a truck to tow multiple different trailers. The result of this work was the development of the patented Gen-Y Hitch. Gen-Y Hitch has continued to develop the Gen-Y Hitch line, which currently encompasses eight Class IV hitches as well as 3 Class V models.
