Trailer Industry to Unite for Inaugural "Honor the Service" Benefit Softball Tournament

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas | The trailer industry will come together for a cause bigger than business at the inaugural Honor the Service Benefit Softball Tournament on Nov. 7 at Heritage Park in Mount Pleasant.

Organized by a committee of trailer industry professionals and spearheaded by Jacob Crabb, CEO of Diamond C Trailers, Honor the Service will bring manufacturers, dealers, vendors and other industry partners together for a day of competition, camaraderie and giving, with a goal of raising $50,000 for Stop Soldier Suicide.

Support from across the industry has already been strong, with all available sponsorship opportunities filled ahead of the event. Companies and individuals can still participate by entering a team or making a general donation to the fundraiser.

“The blessings we have and the things we get to do in life wouldn’t be possible without the veterans who have sacrificed to help protect this nation,” Crabb said. “We hope this fundraiser can become an annual tradition that brings our industry together to honor our veterans and support a cause that truly matters.”

The single-day, double-elimination tournament will feature teams from across the trailer industry, along with a home run derby, veteran recognition, concessions and family-friendly activities.

The planning committee includes representatives from across the trailer industry, including Lamar Trailers. Fernando Loewen, chief manufacturing officer at Lamar Trailers, said Honor the Service gives the industry an opportunity to use its collective reach for a purpose beyond business.

“We spend a lot of our lives focused on building things, solving problems and getting the job done,” Loewen said. “An event like this gives us a chance to step outside of that and put our time and resources toward something that can genuinely impact someone’s life. I hope people across our industry see that opportunity and choose to be part of it.”

About Stop Soldier Suicide

Stop Soldier Suicide is the only national nonprofit dedicated solely to solving the issue of suicide among U.S. veterans and service members. Founded more than 15 years ago by three veterans, we are laser-focused on advancing groundbreaking research and delivering evidence-based care specifically designed to reduce suicide risk within the military community.

Today, veterans are 58% more likely to die by suicide than their civilian counterparts — an unacceptable reality that drives our mission forward. Our vision is clear: a nation where veterans and service members face no greater risk of suicide than any other American.
