Milwaukee, WI (October 11, 2017) – BOLT(r) Locks will feature the “Secured Valor” 2017 Jeep(r) Wrangler JKU Rubicon project vehicle in its Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show booth #33169, located on the top floor of South Hall. Dave Doetsch of Doetsch Off-Road in Chandler, Arizona conceptualized and designed the project vehicle. This is his second consecutive year building BOLT Locks’ SEMA Show booth vehicle.
BOLT Lock technology is used throughout the Jeep with all available BOLT Jeep Wrangler products incorporated into the design of the project. Doetsch elected to use all of the products for Jeep Wrangler to showcase the convenience and security the products offer to the consumer. His theme for the Jeep itself plays off of the durability and trusted protection of BOLT Locks through the symbolization of the American flag. BOLT Locks die castings and metal stampings are made at the company’s headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin so the American imagery of the Jeep is fitting.
“BOLT Locks were designed to protect valuables while withstanding the elements and demanding off-road environments. These locks can take a beating while securing what is precious. That’s how I came up with the idea of using a tattered flag as the theme. The flag represents freedom and sacrifice and, no matter how frayed the flag may get, it’s still a symbol of freedom and protection. BOLT Locks are the same, in a sense. No matter how much wear and tear the locks go through, they still work,” explained Doetsch.
The JKU Jeep Rubicon red, white and blue custom vinyl wrap depicts tattered red stripes fading into the BOLT logo over the white exterior paint. The flag is placed across the Jeep’s hard top and rear fender at an angle horizontal to the ground. Doetsch’s patriotic-themed Jeep is further customized with the following aftermarket additions:
TeraFlex 6-inch long arm suspension lifts the Jeep, and Falcon 3.3 adjustable piggyback shocks increase clearance with large tires during articulation and turning to provide vehicle stability. Toyo Open Country 38×15.50R20 light truck tires accent the suspension and are mounted on 20×10-inch Grid Offroad Savini wheels painted in a complementary color scheme to match the red, white and blue build. Bushwacker aluminum flat fender flares are smoothed and power coated white so the vinyl wrap runs seamlessly into the fender creating a 3D effect. A TeraFlex Nebo Roof Rack is affixed to the roof to allow BOLT Locks to lock down miscellaneous items on top of the rack, like a Grizzly Cooler. A T-Rex Billet grille insert, which is compatible with BOLT’s JK hood lock, complements the front end.
All fluids in the Jeep were treated to AMSOIL’s line of high performance products, while an Odyssey heavy duty battery ensures the Jeep stays charged. A 50-inch KC HiLites LED lighting FLEX Series light bar is installed across the windshield, while a 20″ KC HiLites LED FLEX Series light is mounted on the hood. KC HiLites LED headlamps and fog lights are also used, while FLEX Series quad lights are mounted on the lower a-pillar. Color matched Go Rhino modular front and rear bumpers are installed with a BOLT Lock incorporated in the drawer of the front bumper. Additional exterior customization includes a Rugged Ridge Heat Extraction hood, Drake Offroad door handle inserts, JCR Offroad front aluminum inner fender liners and Warn ZEON winch.
The interior features Katzkin leather seats in a color scheme complementary to the exterior. Rugged Ridge interior accent trim kit complements the Katzkin leather seats. Doetsch also used a Drake Offroad pistol grip shifter handle and billet 4WD shift knob.
“We’re always incredibly pleased with the design and the way Dave Doetsch customizes our Wrangler builds each year. How he implemented BOLT Locks and the thought behind the design are truly amazing and a great representation of what we stand for here at BOLT Locks,” said Erika Garcia, national sales manager for BOLT Locks.
BOLT Locks “Breakthrough One-Key Lock Technology” provides vehicle owners a new level of convenient security. The locks are programmed to the compatible ignition key the first time the key is inserted into the lock. Upon insertion, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down, uniquely coding the cylinder to that specific key. Once programmed, only the ignition key is needed to unlock the series of weather-proof BOLT locks. This enables vehicle owners to unlock any BOLT lock with a single key no matter how many locks are in use.
